In Dutch oven, melt butter. Add beef cubes and brown over medium heat.
Stir in flour. Carefully stif in water, apple juice/cider, and Worcestershire sauce.
Bring to a boil over high heat.
Stir in thyme, pepper, and bay leaf.
Reduce heat to simmer. Cover and simmer for 2 hours.
Add potatoes, carrots, and onions.
Cover and cooke for 25-30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Remove bay leaf before serving. |
